"Botox" is commonly used in cosmetic procedures to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines by temporarily paralysing muscles.
The term "Botox" has become synonymous with Botulinum Toxin treatments in general, but using the specific brand name (owned by Allergan) without permission can be a trademark infringement. It's like saying Biro or Hoover.
Aesthitic nurses cannot advertise "Botox" as it is a prescription only medication (POM) as per gov guidelines.
I currently use "Bocouture" anti-wrinkle injections, so use generic terms like "botulinum toxin injections" or "wrinkle-smoothing injections" instead of using the brand name Botox.
